Mr. Bruyer has the desire to pass it on to as many people as possible in hopes that by passing on the knowledge, even one life may be saved.
People are more likely to join a professional school that is well established and has a good reputation. Everyone who has attended his school has recommended it well.
Mr. Bruyer has explored with hands-on training in over 15 different styles (types) of Martial Arts. He holds rank in Shotokan Karate. He chose to specialize in Shotokan Karate because of the respect the other styles have for it. Students of all ages are taught that using Karate is the very last resort and it is "only to be used in self-defense."

A Message to Parents from Robert Bruyer:
I speak with Parents, Students and other Professional Martial Arts School operators every day and I wanted to share this information with you. I also would like to share with you the information I have learned throughout the years with my experience as a Martial Arts business owner.
In case you are moving out of the area or moving into the area, this report will help you learn more about the safe activities to involve your child in. My goal is to help you become a Black belt shopper.
It is important to remember you are shopping for your child’s future and you cannot afford to make the wrong choices.
1- Choose the right location: Many times I have heard about the “fly by night” Martial Arts school operators. Be aware of these types of businesses and pick a school with a good reputation that is well established, plans on being there for a long time and has made a commitment to the facility he or she is teaching at.
2- A waste of money: Parents pick a school based on price and not on the quality of the program. Some even settle for a School $5.00 cheaper a month and they end up regretting their decision. After a few weeks of training, their child’s motivation becomes a problem and it was all a waste of money on a poor quality program. As a parent, you know how difficult it can be to introduce something new to your child. Once they have had a negative experience with something, it is twice as difficult to get them to try it a second time. If a child does not like a Martial Arts program, they may believe “all” programs are the same, so they will not want to try any other activities.
3- Not all Martial Arts Schools are created equal: It is important to do your research because there are a variety of teaching methods and styles. Style in Martial Arts is a “type” of Martial Arts. Example: Our style is Shotokan Karate. There are over 200 different styles of Martial Arts. More important than style is the benefits the client receives from the program. We use the Karate movements as a motivator with an end result in the benefits the client signs up for.
4- TV can be a negative influence for a child: I often attend Elementary Schools to speak with the younger children about why we do Karate and I teach them what Karate is all about. As soon as I start my speech, I will ask the children to raise their hand if they think Karate is all about fighting and normally a large number of the boys raise their hands. We then demonstrate and explain a self-defense scenario step by step.
It is important for us to educate children and explain the real reason why a student studies Karate. Karate is about self-defense, courtesy, respect, self-discipline, confidence, self-control and coordination with an end result of increased motivation. Karate is not about the violence, aggression and brutality as seen on TV.
5- Is there any proof of customer satisfaction? A reputable school will have a testimonial list on their web site if they can back up what they are promising to their clients.
6- Choosing a school close to your home: This is the worse reason to select a school that is going to educate your child. It is best not to fall into the trap of thinking just because the school is close, you won’t have any trouble making classes. If your child is not having fun, it doesn’t matter if the school is across the street or a couple miles away.
7- Choosing a school with a family atmosphere: It is easy to tell the type of clientele a school caters to simply by watching class. If your child is young and the class suggested consists of older students in a very serous atmosphere, that class is most likely pretty militaristic and hardcore. This would not make a good match for your young child. Ask if there are other classes for your child tailored to age. A professional school will be able to offer a variety of programs structured with children all the same age for better benefit results.
8- A School with more students’ v/s a smaller school: When you attend a trial membership and you see a lot of students on the floor having a blast, this means the word is out that the school owner is doing a good job with business. You can bet that your child will enjoy his or her training and will not give you a hard time about wanting to come to class and do the things that are good for him/her. Professional instructors will adjust the teacher to student ratio on a regular basis to guarantee the student moves up in level on a consistent basis to keep him/her interested in being their very best.
9- Some parents choose Karate over other sports and activities first and some Parent choose both: For many years I have spoke with many parents about how great our program has been for their children. (See testimonials) Some parents use our Karate system as a personal development program. Karate is a complete activity for all children. A professional school has a safe-secure learning environment and carefully prepared curriculums. Children enjoy the fun and physical activity with life lessons to develop confidence, self-control and concentration. It’s the #1 activity worldwide with the highest number of benefits. Karate is very self-controlled and safer than most sports.
This does not mean your child can’t be involved in other sports. Many parents choose to keep their children involved in Karate when their child gets involved in sports and other activities. It is amazing how many times I have heard how Karate has improved their child’s coordination, teamwork, balance, discipline and control to say the least. A professional school will offer a variety of class times so your child can do other activities and Karate. Karate is usually used as a base to help children do well with the other activities in life.
Thank you for taking the time to read my free report. I hope you found this informative and useful for your needs.
Sincerely,
Robert Bruyer
