Our nationally recognized children's Karate program uses interesting and enjoyable methods to keep the students attention and teach our young students skills that they can use for life. Karate gives the children a chance to explore their inner powers as they increase in strength, flexibility, endurance and balance. This is only a start. Physical skills act as a foundation for something much more important: the development of value skills, both mental and emotional.
The children's program is focused on the physical, emotional and mental well-being as well as education. We at Bruyer's Martial Arts are very concerned with the well-being and education of the children. We understand that younger students have a shorter attention span. Our unique children's program uses interesting and enjoyable methods to keep the children's attention and teach them skills that they can use for life. We realize that it is very important for children to be instructed with other children their own age and the curriculum be structured for that age for an end result of the benefits you sign your child up for. We promote non-violent resolutions to conflict. Our methods help children explore and understand conflict through role-play and other exercises.
Courage:
Our students find the courage to move outside of their comfort zone. They will challenge themselves to take on more difficult Karate moves and skills. They suddenly see their lives as a consistent, never-ending journey of life-giving improvement. In short, with a deep breath, they refuse to become a victim of fate. They learn to create their own destiny.
Staying Power:
Our students find joy in improving their physical stamina. They are able to walk farther, run longer and practice skills until they get them right. In turn, they learn not to give up. They strive harder and longer to reach goals. Even if at first they fail, they persevere. They will not let self-doubts get in the way of finding ultimate solutions.
Keener Focus:
They learn to make great eye contact with teachers (and not just in karate.) They pay great attention to what the teachers are saying.
Powerful Self-Control:
They refuse to give into negative peer pressure and they will gain a deeper respect for the rules.

Through our method of Karate instruction, your child will learn philosophy and customs to build superior knowledge of what respect and mutual respect is all about. "To get respect, one must first give respect."

Our students learn to develop self-control, self-motivation and perseverance through Martial Arts Self-discipline.
Goal setting:
Setting goals is the "road map" of life. It has been said that if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. On the road towards a Black Belt, our students gain the experience and motivation for success by earning progressively higher belt ranks. Success is the reward for goal setting.
Self Defense:
They will learn effective and powerful self-defense skills, (after all, we are a Karate school,) as well as the fundamental attitudes appropriate to those tools. The basic attitudes of a successful Martial Artist, and a successful person, are confidence, respect, discipline, goal setting and effective leadership.
Black Belt Excellence:
Our goal for every student is to help them earn a Black Belt, not only in Martial Arts, but also in life! By working toward this goal, we create an instructional environment in which individual students develop confidence by accomplishing realistic and attainable goals.
Our highly motivating classes are supported with positive re-enforcement, and built-in incentive programs to encourage better grades in school, keeping their room clean and anything else you would like to accomplish.
The instruction includes emphasis on respect, learning self-discipline and focus. Our real focus is attitude and character development.
Our Random Acts Of Kindness Program:
This program encourages children to perform acts of kindness or duties at home without being asked to do so.
By the 2nd class, you will see your child hurrying to get their uniform on to go to Karate class with an amazing attitude.
We offer a Trial Membership:
We specialize in teaching Karate to beginners. During the trial membership, we will teach your child the basic movements to help him/her feel comfortable in the program. This includes a tour, teaching how to perform the exercises properly, punching a bag properly, where to place their things and getting started with their first lesson.
